My Love Language is the Gottmans

My Love Language is the Gottmans

If you’re a Dr. Amy client or reader, you know that I’m a huge fan of renowned relationship expert and psychologist, John Gottman and his wife Julie, with whom he co-founded The Gottman Institute. I often quote and recommend the Gottman’s to my patients and, in past blog posts, I’ve recommended podcasts featuring the Gottmans, a book by John Gottman as well as relationship tips influenced by the Gottmans.

The Gottman’s “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in Relationships” is a masterstroke in communication techniques.

Today, I’d like to let you know about a couple of free publications from The Gottman Institute that you can have delivered right to your inbox!

Marriage Minute is an emailed newsletter that arrives on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each one provides one tip to deepen your friendship, navigate conflicts, and enhance the romance in your partnerships. Recent topics include, “Renew your dialogue” and “Rebuild Intimacy, and “What To Do During a Rough Patch.”  Each email is short and simple designed to take “just take a minute” to read. Helpful advice in a small package!  You can subscribe here.

The Gottman Relationship Blog contains compelling and relevant science-based articles and personal stories about contemporary relationships, marriage, dating, parenting, and mental health. Recent posts include “How to Know When A Relationship is Too Much Work,” or “Do You People Please In Your Relationship?” You can see more recent posts and subscribe to have future posts delivered to your inbox once a week here

I enjoy having some extra Gottman in my life and subscribe to all of these, I highly suggest you do the same. Your relationships will thank you!
